For best results, the message to be engraved should be written or drawn on plain white paper using ultra-fine point sharpie. To upload, use a high-resolution image of the hand written message in JPG or PNG format. 
 
Avoid:
using paper with lines or prints
writing that is too small or too thin
writing that is too faint or blurry
uploading images with text that is lighter than background
uploading images with low contrast or hard to read writing
